APSB15-17 (Shockwave July update) rebooting freshly imaged machines

Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

We image machines with a post image package delivery job to install shockwave, then patch updates shockwave to latest version soon there after.

I noticed sometimes out of the corner of my eye the images after being freshly imaged were rebooting themselves, even though our patch tools are set to reboot at 6am if machine wasn't shut down properly.

Going through logs with support, it shows it was Shockwave update that forced restart.

The same shockwave patch doesn't remove the old entry from windows updates, leaving 2 entries in add/remove programs.  Shockwave test in IE says latest is installed, but I have a separate ticket in with support to confirm the old shockwave files/vulnerabilities aren't really on the system anywhere.

Regarding rebooting, support says it's pretty much out of their hands and they've seen it before.  I can try setting the windows update service to manual and it may help.

Luckily, all of our machines aren't rebooting.  I've seen it more than once on freshly imaged machines, which makes me think once they are patched once, even when the next update comes out the same machines no longer reboot.

Could both issues (restart and 2 entries in add/remove programs) be caused by me doing package delivery via msi and Altiris patching with .exe?
